At our shelter, you sit in a room full of cats...wandering around you. Several were attracted to DS 4 pretty quickly. But this one....
This one latched on to him and wouldn't let him go. We sat. We played. We snuggled with others. But she stayed constant. We left to go look at the dogs. They were ugly and loud. Then it was back to the cat room. And, in the words of DS 4, "I looked at Mom with these eyes and she said, 'If I let you get this cat, then you have to take responsibility for it'." Between her eyes and his, I was gone. I asked him to share his eyes with the blogging world...so here ya' go...
After I agreed to take her, we went outside to fill out the paperwork. And do you know what? She came to the window in the midst of all the other cats and played with DS 4 THROUGH the glass!
And here they are...at home...where she is now living as a "foster kitten" until she gets fixed on the 25th of September.
And, guess who's not happy....and wants to remind everyone that he is the king of the litterbox? Yep, that would be DS 3's cat who was rescued from the very same shelter just over a year ago.
Please pray for peace in the feline world that is now living in my house! It's really our goal for everyone in our family to get along including our four-footed friends. As soon as he knows that he's still loved and important to us, I'm sure all will be well.
I've decided that DH and I gave birth to our own "Alex P. Keaton" when we had DS 3! He's a staunch Republican who is very concerned about my occasionally standing on the fence in the political arena. In fact, he begged DH to make sure I didn't vote for a certain candidate earlier this year! I am only hoping that DH explained the word DEMOCRACY to him. But, alas, he knows about (and for that matter, cares about) politics more than I probably ever will. And I'm glad. It's people like him who help people like me sift in a way.

That's a cute kitten. And yeah, I couldn't resist those eyes either!
What a cute kitten..aren't they all just the cutest things in the world? I never would want to go into a room filled with them. That little kitten decided that he was going home with your son or know the reason why..Animals are very smart..Sandy
What a great new look! My blog really needs a makeover, I just don't have the time..
I love the kitty! Too cute!
I think your boy is quite impressive. Wow how times have changed! Campaigning for class pres on Facebook is INSPIRED! Go #3!!!
Oh my gosh! You know... if I had your boys they would just be spoiled rotten! I would NEVER be able to say no... But honestly Susan - when I just wanna LOOK - I go by myself! Cuz taking a kid to LOOK doesn't happen! You were just bein' silly, that's all!
And I am casting MY vote RIGHT NOW for DS3! Absolutely he should win! Even if he IS a republican! (actually... I'm registered as a republican too!) However... I've never voted party... I always vote the person! But I would vote for DS3!!!
I hope he wins, too, and good for him for going after what he wants!!!
I couldn't have gotten past those eye's either :o)
Susan
Yes, it would be impossible to turn away those eyes! Enjoy your new love... and the politics of your loved ones...
Awwww.....love the kitty....you are such a good mom!
Best of luck to your son and his campaign endeavors! It's fun to see our children taking initiative in projects...after all...they will be the leaders of tomorrow!

Now -- for the truth!
As Grandpa, I got a call from Susan's DS4. He called to tell me about the kitten. I asked him HOW he did that?!
He replied: I looked at mom with my puppy dog eyes and she said yes.
I told him: You are good!
He replied: Yes I am!
And that is the truth!
Grandpa N
Very cute kitten - I would have caved, too between the eyes and the cat!
