I'm Flattered AND Seeing 'Pink'!

Today I received a call from my DS 2 and he said, "I showed people your blog today."

My reaction? "Um, why?"

He replied, "You know the post you wrote about the bagger? It brought tears to my eyes when I was reading it. So I showed it to my teacher, Mrs. B."

He continued to tell me how cool he thought that event was and how he shared my blog "around". I thanked him and agreed that the grocery store event was pretty neat.

After I hung up with him, I thought: "How many 18 year old BOYS (especially boys) would a) read their Mother's blog AND b) share it with their teachers and friends despite its faith elements and the fact that it shares our crazy lives?"

I am fairly certain the answer is "Not many."

So, I'm flattered.

On another "raising males" note...tonight all my boys and DH were in the living room having a conversation. DS 2's GF was there as well. Remember I just live here sometimes.

Anyway, DS 1 started asking very scientific questions about seasons, the Tropic of Cancer, Earth's axis, and such. All the guys got into the discussion and I listened a bit, then I looked at E (DS2's GF) and said, "Do you and your sisters sit around and talk about this kind of stuff?" She said, "Absolutely NOT! We talk about clothes and colors and stuff like that." Then she started talking to me about the latest celebrity news.

I told her "Now you know why I need want my pink room!" She and I continued to discuss (and plan) my room while my guys discussed Global Warming.

You've gotta love having a little more estrogen around here!

You already know what I feel about raising boys. I knew God would not give me that job...He did give us one boy and I am thrilled for that. i am just more into girls. You are going to be in 7th heaven one day when your boys bring you all of those girls. You are of course getting a small taste of that now. Pink is in your future!! smile. Sandy

Don't know if I've told you this, but you have 4 very handsome boys. And, after reading your blog for awhile now, I've learned they are equally handsome inside!!

Your bagger story was so touching. It was so nice of you to publicly tell this story.

Have a good day!

This is why it is SO important that your BOYS only pick GIRLS that MAMA gets along with!!! (though I suspect at this point you will get along with any estrogen that walks in the door!) LOL!

Susan -- you have WONDERFUL boys! I've said it before, and I believe it heartily! You've raised GREAT kids!!! (you AND DH)

You definitely need a pink room! Your boys are sweethearts though and you can tell they really love their Momma.

I think it's awesome that your son a) reads your blog, and b) shares it! That is really cool!

It is also cool that you were able to have some "estrogen" time. 8-)

Funny stuff about the estrogen shortage. Also, I do think it's rare that an 18 year-old male would read/show his mom's blog. He sounds like a sweetie, for sure.
