I went to Susie's Blog yesterday and found a great meme on there using her iPod. Since I don't have an iPod, but I loved the idea about the meme, I decided to steal (ahem) BORROW the idea and modify it here. Can you name these tunes? 1. "Where it began, I can't begin to know when. But then I know it's growing strong. Was in the spring, then spring became the summer...." 2. "...And somehow you know, you know even then, that somewhere you'll see him again and again." 3. "One of these mornin's, you's gonna rise up singing' then you'll spread yo' wings an' you'll take to the sky..." 4. "He must know somepin', but he don't say nothin'...He just keeps rollin', he keeps on rollin' along...He don't plant taters, and he don't plant cotton...And them what plants 'em is soon forgotten" 5. "A long long time ago...I can still remember...How that music used to make me smile..And I knew if I had my chance That I could make those people dance..And maybe they'd be happy for a while" 6. "Now the simple kind of life never did me no harm, raisin me a family and workin' on the farm..." 7. "When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie...." 8. "How do you measure, measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets in midnights in cups of coffee..." 9. "All the cattle are standin' like statues. All the cattle are standin' like statues. They don't turn their head as they see my ride by..." 10. "Oh there's been mornings out on the road without you, without your charms...oh my my..." 11. "I guess I was wrong. I just don't belong. But then, I've been there before..." 12. ""I'll be over at ten", you told me time and again. But you're late, I wait around and then I went to the door, I can't take any more. It's not you, you let me down again." 13. "Small and white, clean and bright, you look happy to meet me." HINTS: Here are two of the places I visited: Jelly Rolls and Bergamo's. |

I know a few...#7 is Thats Amore'
#4 is Old Man River; I know #2 but cannot come up with the title but know it well...OOOPS mental block!!
That is the best that I can do this morning...GREAT idea though..My TT is up on this ACTUAL Thursday the 13th...
Oh I know the last one all too well....that's the song I sing when I rock "Z" to sleep.
Edelweiss from the Sound of Music, one of my favorite movies too...
C~
Ok I am disappointed on my knowledge of your list. I thought I would do much better. There are 6 of them I think I can name 100% without a doubt. There are others that seem familiar but not sure. Here is what I am certain of:
5 - American Pie (Don McLean)
7 - That's Amore
8 - Seasons of Love (From Rent)
9 - Oh What a Beautiful Morning (Oklahoma)
11 - Friends in Low Places (Garth Brooks)
13 - Edelweiss (From Sound of Music)
Bonus for knowing the show or composer?
Oh man, I'm terrible at these kinds of games...but what a great idea for a T13!
Have a wonderful Thursday!!!
Ack! Normally I'm great at these, but I don't think I've had enough coffee yet...
7 is That's Amore.
Oh, am I going to be sorry when I finally figure them out... I'm sure I'll do the slap to the forehead thing.
Ijust got it #2 is "Some Enchanted Evening"...Stupid Mental Blocks anyway!!
Even though I don't know where a lot of these lyrics come from, they are very neat to read! I only knew 7 and 13 for sure. :)
Hmmm...I'm at work and the only way I remember the titles is to sing the song our loud (which may cause a stir in the office!) Cute idea though.
Okay, is #1 Sweet Caroline? DH has had us listening to Neil Diamond quite a bit on road trips recently...so I know the lyrics are Neil's but wasn't sure if I had the right title! Good idea....are you going to give the answers later, or next TT?
Here are my other guesses:
#2 Some Enchanted Evening?
#3?
#4Ole Man River
#5 I didn't recognize until I saw Dan's answer;-)
#6Thank God I'm A Country Boy
#7yep, That's Amore!
#8I should have known as DH plays it over and over
#9 Dan I recognized this one too;-)
#10 no idea
#11 I do too, but I didn't know the title;-)
#12 I Will Survive (just a guess?)
#13 C, I used to sing this to mine too;-)
The only 2 I knew off the top of my head were American Pie and Thats Amore. And I thought I was good at this kind of stuff. Whats funny is when I read why everyone else is guessing, I go DUH! I knew that. Thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by.
I stink!
I can't figure them out!
Will you post answers? :)
FIL & MIL are both too young to know any of these!!
:-)
Okay, without looking at who's written what, "Can I name these tunes?" My Answer to Questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 is NO! How pathetic. Number 5 is American Pie and Number 7 is That's Amore! Good interactive T13, Thanks for swinging by my Bible Misquotes Edition at FBO.
I only got the Amore song. Gee, I really need to get out more. hehe
Thanks for stopping by my TT. Happy Thursday!
I knew #1 right off the bat, my husband's grandmother is Caroline, and she named her daughter after that song, she also loves Neil Diamond.
The only other one's I knew were 7,11, and 13! Pretty sad!
I like fun TT's like these!
Have a great Thursday!
One thing I'm very sure of is #13...Title is Edelweiss.
Thanks for coming.
I had a Name That Tune Game as a girl, but I'm not too good at this. #5 is American Pie (Do I get extra points for saying by Don McClean?). #7 is That's Amore but Dean Martin. I know a couple of others but can't seem to get their names.
Thanks for the challenge and stretching our minds.
What a clever list! I think I know a few of them!
Cannot believe that only TWO knew what #1 was.
NEIL DIAMOND!
Love him and have seen him in concert!!
Oh MY! I can only come up with #5 Don Mclean - American Pie - one of my FAV'S!! and #11. Garth Brooks- Friends in Low Places- and did you know on the cassette
tape of Friends in Low Places you can hear "Push Marie" in the chorus when eveyrone is singing at the end? One of the stage hand's wives was having a baby at the time they were recording it and one of the guy's yelled it out.
LOL- weird fact I know
Thanks for dropping by today!
Oh, this was fun, even though I didn't do very well. I love American Pie. If only I could carry a tune maybe I could name more of them! Thanks for stopping by my TT!
Thanks for visiting my TT today! You know, I love a good song, but for some reason if it's not in my head, then I can read the words and not know the song at all! Thanks for sharing though!
Oh my goodness, I am terrible with this type of thing. I make a joyful NOISE when I "sing"! LOL Dear hubby of mine would probably do tons better!
I love your story below! I'm going to take time to look around and get to know you! :)
I saw this on Susie's the other day, too, and my goodness, I think I am just terrible at this! I think I must be very auditory, I need to hear a snippet of music or something. The only ones I'm sure about are 7, 8, 11 and 13. I feel like several of the others are "show tunes", Broadway type stuff that I can't quite put my finger on.
It was fun though, great idea for the T13!!
Oh, and I love your design, Susie must have done it, it looks fabulous!
Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by mine too!
#3 is Summertime. Janis Joplin does a RIGHTEOUS version of this song!
Wow, the ones I knew are already listed by someone else! Thanks for the visit. I enjoyed the interactive post!
I'll throw #10 in the ring... "Lights" by Journey.
It is pretty late here now. I am so tired, but I like the idea of this TT. Maybe I will have to try this sometime, when I am more awake!! Thanks for stopping by my TT.
Nr 5, American Pie...for the rest I would at least need some notes, lol!
great idea, Happy TT :)
I am not even going to attempt to answer... I only knew #13... Edelweiss, coz it's one of my favourites...
Thanks for your kind wishes & for visiting my site. I am much better today and taking things 1 day at a time...Please keep me in your prayers

OOOOh I absolutely love #11, I guess I was wrong, I just dont belong but then I've been there before.....hmmm so touchy and it gets to me...hehehe
Happy TT!
I only know three of them.
#2 Some Enchanted Evening for South Pacific (Great musical!)
#6 Thank God I'm a Country Boy by John Denver
#13 Edelweiss from Sound of Music (Another great musical!)
How fun! My TT is up if you'd like to visit.
Oh here I am a day late because I had to work, and all the answers are up! Songs I knew too!
Hope you had a wonderful thursday!
Sorry I'm late, work was awful too. I'd of rather been out visiting TT's
Thanks everyone for stopping by...yes, the Journey song is the one you say, Ocean Lady.
:-)
