Take three doses and call me next week....

Do you ever feel dry? I'm there. Some days it's almost like walking in a desert. I can't figure out why, but I am. And today as I was wallowing in self pity, I read my SIL Heather's blog and I wanted to kick myself. When I read about her journey this past year, I realize that sometimes it's all about perspective.

I'm so richly blessed. It's at those times when I am dry that I need to stop and count my blessings. And believe me, there are many many of them.

In addition to the "pill" I received from reading Heather's blog, I remembered two more that were given to me last week.

The first one came from my dear sweet blogging friend Jane over at Cozy Reader. She shared this award with me last week and I was so touched when she sent it...and yet I didn't really take the time to acknowledge it here.

It is called Mathetes Award. Mathetes is the Greek word for disciple. The role of the disciple is to make more disciples (as written in the Great Commission).

We are challenged to find five more people who share the message in their own ways. Winners of this award must pick five other "disciples" to pass it on to. The originator of the award (Dan King of management by God). It's a blessing to see things such as this floating around the blogosphere. Here are my five choices for this award:

Heather certainly deserves this award as she shares her heart again and again as God has brought her through this past year.

Samurai is a blogging friend who daily talks about the ways that he lives out his faith as a husband, a father, in his work, and as a member of the National Guard. He constantly pushes himself to be better. I appreciate his heart and his daily "dose" of scripture.

Danielle again and again challenges me when she posts about her walk with God. She isn't afraid to be raw and lay her "faith" cards on the table. She blesses me by being real.

Mary constantly shares her faith via her blog. She isn't afraid to let others know when it's tough OR when it's those mountaintop experiences. I love that. Most recently, she's changed her blog name to For An Audience of One. I think that pretty much sums it up, don't you?

Carrie most certainly deserves this award. She continually amazes me as she provides for her sweet family. She values the quiet moments and the precious memories that being a wife and a mother bring.

Then, after receiving the very touching Mathete award, I received this SWEET treat from my friend Barbara over at Baba's Blog. I'm so excited because I've known Barbara through blogging for almost a year. I get to actually meet her and my other blogging friends next week in Savannah...and believe me, THAT'S going to be the SWEETEST "pill" of all this month!

Barbara posted this award she received from Hootin' Anni. I know this "season" is sometimes a bit of a challenge for some. I love Fall and pumpkins however...and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Candy Apples...ok I really love caramel apples more. Barbara's blog says, "This sweet treat needs to be sent to other friends or to random visitors who deserve a special treat for the season..Like a " pay it forward" gesture... Have fun and take part if you wish..."

I'm sending this sweet treat to all the Blogging Gals who will be meeting next week in Savannah! I'm looking forward to a sweet time together with you all!

And thanks to those who helped me realize that you have to "push through" the dry spells...and ask for rain.

I needed this "pill" today, too. A very good reminder of the blessings we all have. I got the same award from Baba..and will blog about it later this week. I wrote a comment to her that I have loved caramel apples with peanuts since I was very young. I hope y'all have a wonderful blogging get-together. Savannah is a great place to meet!

Thank you for the atta girl...I thought I was being a bit self-indulgent, actually, but needed to get it out of my system!

Mmm...I love carmel apples,too...and the kids have been asking for them. Sounds like a project for our day off next week. With peanuts or without???

Love,
Heather

yes, I know how you feel.."dry"!! I completely understand!! Tonight at church Jeff Vines our teacher on Wednesdays wanted us to realize just who we are!! We are a child of God and need to remember that no matter what happens in our lives. We have HIM within us and nothing should stop us from living up to that in everything that we do!! It was great!! I hope that you and all of the girls will come with us this coming Wednesday. Sandy
