Sunday Seven is a weekly meme to give thanks and/or for noting important events in our lives. For the code, go to the Sunday Seven site. This has been a busy week with Spring Break. I have taken the time, however, to think about those things for which I am grateful:
1. I am grateful that we have raised our children in the church and that now they are living out their faith through music, relationships, and other activities. I am realizing that church is going to be very different for them as they grow...but knowing that they are sure of their faith is powerful to me.
2. I am thankful for my husband who continues his travels and comes home and still gives so much to his family. And I am thankful for the love we share. I read of a friend's marriage troubles this week and it broke my heart. It's not that we don't have our days like every couple (although they are fewer and farther between the older we get)...but I know our promise is solid...and that's beautiful!
3. I am thankful for the fact that I am free to live and work and breathe and be where I want in this world. And, yes, I am glad that it's HERE in this city at this time. I know I sometimes get a bit melancholy about being somewhere else...but as some wise blogger reminded me this week---we need to "Bloom where we are planted." I am glad to be planted where I am for this season of my life.
4. I have been reminded of the children's church song I used to sing with the kids: "He's still working on me. Making me what I ought to be. It took Him just a week to hang the moon and the stars, the sun and the earth, and jupiter and mars. How loving and patient He must be. He's still working on me!" I am so thankful that He continues to shape me into the woman that I want to be and more importantly that HE wants me to be!
5. I am thankful that I know how to read. As I read books this week, I was reminded that there are many people who cannot. It's a gift and it unlocks so many doors.
6. I am grateful for the resources that God has given us. We continue to be blessed and that enables us to be able to reach out and spread His love to others.
7. I was able to go through EVERY post (out of 467) yesterday and put labels on all of them. It was fun going back and seeing His steady hand guiding our lives. I love that! And I LOVE that I have a record of it here.

Look at you Miss Thing....I still have about 200 or more post to title. Loved your list, you always make think about things I take for granted like reading. (We just came back from the Green Valley Book fair with lots of books I'm planning on devouring this afternoon.) Hope your Palm Sunday was wonderful.
I am blog hopping this Rainy Palm Sunday... came across your beautiful blog...

Hi Susan,... Thanks for visiting me today..Your family is blessed many times with a MOm like you!!!What do you do with your list and labeling??
Sounds confusing to me.Take care.

Susan, Just to let you know if your marriage is anything like ours the longer that you are married the less you will have "discussions..or arguments". Ours just really stopped around 30 years I think or sometime in there. Why argue? It is silly anyway!! You know each other too well for that now, don't you? So why get all upset over nothing which is usually the reason in the first place!! Great list of thankfulness!! Sandy...thanks for stopping by.
I enjoyed your Seven! I too sometimes wish I lived somewhere else- closer to my family. But I liked what you said about blooming where we are planted. I will keep that in mind when I am feeling home sick.
I enjoyed this very much!
I have been putting off going through another blog I'm associated with to label posts, but I like your way of looking at it. I'll be reminded of ways that I have grown. I'll get started tomorrow!
Alot to be thankful for, that's for sure!
Aren't labels fun?! LOL!
Have a nice week!
I like this idea of the "Sunday Seven." I haven't seen it before. Maybe I will join in next week!
Wow - I am new to Sunday Seven and new to the blogging world, I have 60 posts - hard to imaging 450 +
Thank you for sharing your world with us - your bloom where you are planted resonated with me.
Have a blessed Holy Week.
My SS #4 is up.
Thanks for your work!
What a beautiful work you have.
have a good week
You do have so much to be thankful for. Me too. Thanks for the plug in your post below. You are so sweet and I'm so glad to call you my friend. I like the idea you left on Daisy's blog about the southeastern bloggers meeting. btw...daisy is my neighbor too!
More blessings to you my friend.
Great post today. It has caused me to reflect the things I too am grateful for...
Thank you for sharing. \o/
You mentioned several things that I, too, am very thankful for. What would life be like if I couldn't read? I don't want to know. And what a blessing it is to see my grown children living out the dreams we had for them as we prayed for them and worked with them throughout their childhoods! God is so faithful!
PS....I taught sunday school yesterday out of Revelations 1 and we discussed the number 7.... kind of DID YOU KNOW... it is mentioned in Revelations 54 times.. and in the Bible over 700 times....
The number represents completeness.
The world represents the number 4 and the Heavens # 3 for the
Trinity so combined = 7...
There is your 7...
it is amazing how many things are referred to by 7's in the Bible.
Now don't you feel complete knowing all this...??
BIG SMILE....
A little trivia on this beautiful Monday...
Blessings.
Connie
Your sweet spirit comes through in your posts all the time, this being one of those.
I think you should be very HAPPY about number 1 - and thankful ... and proud!
And I am EVER so thankful for number 4 - right along with ya! I don't know that song - but it sounds like one I would like!
